What are the benefits of retiring? Are there any?
Are you prepared for it? Have you been planning for it?
What are you going to do with your time? Are you planning to spend your time travelling?
Retirement means different things to different people. Most people have certain thoughts in their mind, preconceived notions, that they have to be older to be retired. Usually people imagine themselves over 65.
I do not. I picure myself much younger. I picture myself as retired when I no longer have to set my alarm and go to a job where I have to answer to someone.
My idea of retirement is having the freedom of time, financial burden and debt. I look at being retired as still young enough to enjoy my loved ones and the energy of my youth to experience different things in life.
I have always had a desire to travel the world and to see different cultures and experience different things. These things can be done and do not have to be super expensive or impossible to attain them.
We just have to put our minds in a different place to imagine retirement in a way that is enjoyable to us.
What would make you happy? Does the idea of 25 – 40 years of a job and the pressures of it really appeal to you. For some it does.
The corprate rat race is very thrilling to some. For others it is a dread. What does a happy life mean to you?
